The First Tee: Parkland Golf Art

Early sun breaks through the branches of a huge old oak and lays long stripes of gold across the grass. Mist hangs low over the ground. A path of mown fairway curls away from the tree, round a gentle rise, to a green with a small white flag. The leaves are turning, so the colours are bronze, olive and honey, with soft cream light in the sky.

It is painted in a classical oil style, with thick, visible brushwork in the leaves and the grass. That gives it the feel of an old painting from a country house, and it sits happily with wooden furniture, leather and warm lamps. Hang it in a study, a dining room or above a fireplace. It suits the golfer who loves being out early, when the dew is still on the fairway.

The full picture is tall, with plenty of tree above and long grass below. The framed poster and the mug keep all of that. The wider formats, like wood and metal, crop in to the middle band: the trunk, the sun rays and the flag on the green. You can see it next to the other paintings on our golf prints page.
