A woman playing an iron shot by the sea, in loose watercolour
She has just made contact. A woman golfer with her hair in a ponytail and a visor on keeps her head down as the ball climbs away, her iron swinging through and a spray of turf still flying from the strike. She wears a grey zip-neck top, grey trousers and white shoes. Behind her, a fairway runs out along the cliffs to a green on a headland, with a hazy sea, a few gulls and a soft sky.
An approach is the shot that aims to land the ball on the green. The watercolour is loose and pale, in sea-grey, sage and pale gold, with plenty of white space. It is a fresh, light picture that looks good in a bedroom, a bathroom, a hallway or a cottage by the coast. It is a lovely gift for a woman who plays, and there are more ideas on our golf gifts for women page.
The tall framed poster shows her from visor to shoes. The poster and the framed canvas crop wider, cutting her at the legs and dropping the turf, but they keep the ball in the air, the gulls and the clifftop green.
