Heather and silver birch along the fairway, in delicate watercolour
Soft and pretty is the first impression. Silver birches with white bark stand on both sides of a pale, winding fairway. Purple and pink heather crowds the edges in loose, dabbed patches. Far down the hole, a little red flag marks the green, and the heath fades into the distance under a wide, pale blue sky.
Heather is the low purple shrub that grows on open, sandy heathland. The watercolour is light and airy, with lots of pale paper showing through. The colours are heather, sage, pale gold and blue. It is a gentle picture for a bedroom, a bathroom or a sitting room in soft colours, and a good choice for a golfer who enjoys the walk and the scenery as much as the score.
The tall original has a big open sky. The metal print and the framed canvas crop wider and lower, so the birches, the heather and the curve of the fairway fill the frame, with the flag in the middle distance. The framed poster keeps the full sky.
