Four golfers in the morning mist, in pale watercolour
A fourball is a game for four players, and here they are, standing on the tee in the first light. They are painted as dark shapes with no faces, one bent over the ball and three waiting their turn. Their shadows stretch long across the dewy grass. Behind them the heath fades into mist and soft trees, and the sky glows pale gold.
The colours are gentle: cream, gold, sage and the dusty brown of heather. The watercolour is loose, so the mist really looks like mist. This one is a natural gift for a regular group, the four who meet every week, or for a society captain. It hangs well in a hallway, a bedroom or a den, anywhere a soft picture fits better than a loud one.
The framed poster keeps the full height, with the sky above and heather at the bottom. The wider formats, wood and canvas among them, crop to the four players, the mist and the trees. It sits alongside other ideas on our golf society prizes page.
