Autumn Parkland: Autumn Golf Art

Autumn is in every corner of this one. Big oaks and beeches in orange, russet and gold line both sides of a fairway, and fallen leaves are scattered over the grass. A single figure in a dark jacket stands on the left, looking down the hole. The fairway winds away to a green with a small red flag and a bunker, and behind it the further trees fade into grey mist.

Parkland is the name for an inland course laid out among big trees and grass, like the grounds of a large estate. The watercolour here is rich and layered, in amber, olive and grey-blue. It is a warm, cosy picture that suits a dining room, a study, a snug or a hallway done in autumn colours. It is a natural fit for the golfer who keeps playing through October and November.

The tall version has sky above and a strip of long grass at the front. The poster and the metal print crop wider, keeping the figure, the flag and the arch of trees. The framed poster shows the full picture.
